I Saw Two Tony's Last Night!

LMAO is all I have to say about the series finale of The Soprano's. I was at B's watching it, and he was so excited for it, and then the ending. The ending was so perfect. It just ended randomly! LMAO I love how the producers totally mind-fucked everyone who cared about the characters. It was literally the biggest "Fuck You" series finale since St. Elsewhere. Loved it!

Okay the Tony's last night! Can I just say I am sooooo fucking glad that David Hyde Pierce won over Raul. I mean yeah "Being Alive" was really good. But David is just so, gah! It's harder to get people to laugh than it is to cry. And his speech was so cute and charming. I am glad that he won. He deserved that award. Granted the only nominee that I actually saw from that category was Jonathan Groff, but you know, I really like DHP on the Curtains cast recording more than I liked Raul on the Company one. Anywwwwwaaaaay.

I secretly wanted and upset in the best actress in a musical category, I wanted Laura Bell Bundy to walk up there and win! But she didn't, and I knew there was no way in hell she would have, I just thought it would have been funny. I am glad Christine Ebersole won, she deserves it. She is fucking amazing in anything she does, and I want to make it with her. Well not really, but kind of.

How fucking excited was I when Julie White won for Little Dog Laughed! I was like "She's so not going to win, because she is nominated with all these other fucking amazing actors" and then she won! She was so shocked I was so happy for her. I love her, and I heard she was fucking amazing in Dog. I loved her speech too. I am so glad that that show won at least one award.

And may I just give a big "Fuck Yeah" to John Gallager Jr. His performance in Spring Awakening was brilliant! I loved him. I am so glad to see him win. I am still kind of baffled that Lea Michelle didn't even get a nomination, because I thought she was amazing. But I am glad to see at least one performer from that show get something. I think it's the performances that make that show. Well minus the really ugly gay kid who can't sing, or talk, or do anything.

Hurrrrrrrmmmm. Oh I watched the Tony's with B, and it was so cute when we watched Audra sing "Raunchy" which is the best number from 110, because frankly the show kind of sucks, and the only reason to see it is Audra. He was like "Oh I so wanna see this show now" I am converting him! I am so proud of myself! And he is totally willing to go see Legally Blonde with me! I am so stoked to see it. But I need to see some other shows first.

Overall I thought the Tony's was good this year, I am a bit sick of seeing A Chorus Line do "One" on every fucking show. It's the stupidest song in the show, and in my opinion the weakest one. But people get a boner for the kickline. I thought it would have been better had they done, "What I Did For Love" which is the best song in the show, besides "Dance 10, Looks 3" which is more of a showcase song. But yay for the winners, and yay for Idina Menzel not being able to read, and looking like she had a case of the triple 21's on national TV. And yay for Angela Lansbury being amazing as always, I kind of wanted her to sing a song, but whatever. And may I just say, I kind of have a newfound respect for Fantasia, although how weird was is that she just sang her song and then walked off stage randomly. LOL! Holla!

List of Shows to see

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. Xanadu
3. Legally Blonde
4. Curtains

HAHA yes! Actually, we usually agree on most things when it comes to pop culture (not just theatre).

I watched the Tonys and pretty much agree with you...

Only thing is, I had never heard of Spring Awakening and so when it started to win EVERYTHING I was excited for the performance. Then when they performed it fell flat with me and didn't see what the big deal was.

Maybe it just got hyped up so much in the night that I expected more.

LOL awwwwww. It was a medley of the songs, that's why. I thought the way they censored themselves during "Totally Fucked" was brilliant. The show is amazing, when I saw it, I was like "So I know which show is going home with every Tony this year" The score is brilliant, and everything about the show, minus the book(which is kind of corny and weird) is perfect.

dl the cast recording, the songs as a whole are better than they are when they get mixed together. http://www.sendspace.com/file/11uaz6

Enjoy!
